Hotel Zeebad, Bobbie Sanderson en de zoektocht III-A

This photo shows my mother, me, and my good friend Missy who was visiting us one summer. Missy is above and behind my mother and I am the one looking down on the top left side. I think Missy and I were 17-18 at the time so that would put the year at 1959-1960.

In juni 2019 plaatste ik het volgende bericht:
Het begon allemaal anderhalve maand geleden met deze vraag over een stukje met de titel Hotel Zeebad op Ikki’s eiland:
‘Is it possible to see a translation to English for this? My parents ran Hotel Zeebad back in the 1950s.’

Nadat een vertaling van dat stukje naar Arizona was gemaild, kwam een e-mail van mevrouw Bobbie Sanderson waaruit ik graag citeer:
‘If you’re able to point me in the right direction, I would so love to find anyone who may remember when my mother and stepfather, Ruth and Rick Sanderson, ran Hotel Zeebad back in the mid/late 1950s. […]’

Sindsdien hebben mevrouw Sanderson en ik contact gehouden. Donderdag kwam ik tijdens een zoektocht per ongeluk deze video tegen in de collectie van Fuhikubo:

Tien minuten nadat ik de video naar mevrouw Sanderson had gestuurd, kwam dit verrassende antwoord:
‘Oh my gosh. This says 1963 but it has to be earlier because my mother and stepfather, Ruth and Rick Sanderson, are in it! They are the water-skiers. A blond teenager on a boat looks like me. Rick’s business partner had his own plane.
In 1963 we were all on St Croix.’

Weer vijf minuten later:
‘This video is rocking my world.
That’s my stepfather, Rick Sanderson, on the water skis and sailing the boat and behind the bar. My mom has the swim cap on when she water skies.

Here are a couple of names that maybe I missed in the credits, although I really flew through the whole video pretty fast. I’ll go back.
John Bogart was my stepfather’s business partner. His wife was Martha. They lived in Caracas. John flew his Cessna (or whatever).’

En dan komt een opmerking die weer tot een zoektocht uitnodigt:
‘A Hungarian man stayed with us at Hotel Zeebad. He was a photographer and he did some videos too. His name was Atkos Litsek. Spelling is probably wrong but that’s how it sounded.’

En dus: weet iemand iets van een Hongaarse fotograaf die eind jaren vijftig van de vorige eeuw op Bonaire foto’s en mogelijk video’s heeft gemaakt?
